Advanced Facebook Fanpage Content Creation
By Mitchell Gandy Posted October17, 2015
SUMMARY
I'm going to continue on with showing you guys some different types of posts that you can put up. The first one that I'm going to talk to you about is those links and some of those buy me posts. We do still stand by that you shouldn't put a ton of these up on your site. However, it is very important to drive traffic back to your product.
Advanced Facebook Fanpage Content Creation
Skittles (refer to video above) does it by a couple of ways here. One of the things that they do is they link everyone back to Amazon. In this other one, they've linked everyone to YouTube so that they can watch a commercial. Two very quick, simple yet effective ways.

Let me show you here on "Downton Abbey" how we would do these. The first one that I've set up here is a video that's on YouTube that the people on "Downton Abbey" would like watching. I'm just going to simply copy the link and I'll insert that here. Now that this box has been generated, I'm going to go ahead and highlight this and put in a few words to encourage engagement. Once I have that done, I'll go ahead and post it. Now when someone's coming down the news feed, they can just click to watch the video.

The second thing that we could do is this is a link to Barb's book. We can paste that in here and it will do the same, it will generate. You do have the choice to upload an image if you don't like the image that they've given you here. We can give a quick suggestion to check out the book. This time I'll post that as well. This is 2 simple ways that you can quickly post links. You can use this for any sort of link. If you do have a website, you can insert your website here. You could insert a link to your other social media. This is just a great way to be able to get your fans around to see the other things that you have to offer or to share things with them that you know they'd be interested in.

Driving Traffic To Your Products

The Process

How To Post Questions
Let's move on now to questions. Now, there are a couple different types of ways to post questions. It's really going to depend on what type of page that you're running. When I'm running a page that's more about community, I like to get the community involved. Doing that, I'll ask them to submit questions that they may have and that allows for 2 things to happen. One, it gives me the engagement for people replaying, and two, it really helps to form that sense of community on the page because your fans are talking amongst each other.

Here's a couple examples of questions that were simply messaged to us and then we post them anonymously to the page. Another type of question that you may want to put up is a quiz. Now, for this, it's a "Downton Abbey" fan page, so we went ahead and did a "Downton Abbey" quiz. However, the same thing works for any subject. Finally, one of the questions that we used most often is just simply putting up a thought-provoking question.

Thought-provoking questions per day
On pages that I manage, I like to put up one thought-provoking question a day. It really gets everybody talking, it helps to bring that community sense to the page, and once again is a great form of engagement. Here on this one I put, "If you could give everyone one piece of advice, what would it be?" We've got several replies and even people replying to each other, which is nice. When posting questions, I like to go ahead and get them done all at once. I'll go ahead and schedule out all the questions over the course of the month. In the beginning it was really easy to just come up with a few questions off the top of my head and then it became something that I was having to put a little too much time into. What I stated doing is utilizing Google. Simply asking for questions that make you think deeply and then clicking on one of these links here. The great things about these links is it just gives you a really quick list of questions. Most of these I'm going to be able to use. I'll find that I'll be able to click on one of these links, this one has 99 questions, and I'll be able to take these questions, rotate them so they're a little bit different on a couple pages that I may be managing that these questions may fit, and I can schedule out both those pages for between 30 and 90 days. That will free me up so I can make sure that I'm spending my extra time now on other content.

Sharing Content
Let's go ahead and talk about sharing. There are 2 reasons that you want to share. One of the reasons that sharing is awesome is that you can take content from your main page, your brand page, and share it onto your community pages. That's great because it really helps the reach of your brand page and it helps to get people that are on your fan page over to check out your brand page and see more of what you're about. Generally this type of sharing isn't going to have a huge reach, but it's still going to be something that's of value because you're getting clients over to that brand page. The other reason that we share is to really help the post reach grow on our pages. You'll see here that this was a post that was created by us and it has a reach of around 13,000.

Here's another post that's similar with a reach of around 15,000. However, when we've gone in and we've shared from pages and followed the sharing rules, we now have a post that has 44,000 for a reach and another post that you'll see here that has 34,000 for a reach. Our reach has doubled and sometimes tripled simply because we shared a picture versus posting an original. That being said, I don't want you to just say, "Well, then why would we post originals?" Facebook does not like when you pigeonhole yourself in any one area. They really like your posting to be diverse. Just the same, when we realized what a benefit sharing could be, it was definitely an exciting thing. Let me show you what our rules for sharing are. You want to make sure that you are sharing viral content. You're going to share from large reputable pages. You're going to share the most popular content you can find. You're going to stay away from links and clickable pictures that take the fans away from Facebook.

Getting Guaranteed Reach
When you follow these rules and you share content from other pages that is already viral and things that Facebook's algorithms have already decided that they like, you are going to get guaranteed reach on your pages by just riding the coattails of these bigger pages. Let me show you how this works. Here's a page called "Being Mommy" and I like to share from this page when I'm posting on my "Mommy Chat" page. This page currently has 4 million likes. It is a successful page here on Facebook. That being said, this post here is something I would not share. If you click on this, it's going to take you away from Facebook. This is not going to be something that's going to give me a lot of reach when I share it on my page. Here's another example of something I would not share. It has a Bitly link. This is a buy me now post. It works great for the "Being Mommy" page because this is a product that they're selling. However, this is not something that I would want to share on my page to help with my reach. We have another post here. This is a simple meme that they put up. The reach is very successful. I want to point out here the difference. Look at the number of likes and shares versus the number of likes and shares here when this is a buy me now post. It's gone down significantly. This is a post that Facebook likes. It has a meme, it's colorful, people are liking it, they're sharing it. The reach is huge. This is a perfect one for me to share on our page.  There are 2 different ways that I can do that.

The first one would be to click right here on share. Then I'm going to go to the box below it, share on a page that I manage. I'll pick the page. I'm going to go ahead and say a little something with it and then I'll hit post. It was successfully shared with "Mommy Chat." If I go ahead and go to the "Mommy Chat" page, you will see that shared right here. We'll check back on it in just a moment to see how it's done.

The next way to share, I'm going to use this post. Once again it has a large reach. There are no links or buy me now-type content on here. However, I'm going to schedule this one out to be shared at a later time. The way that you do that is you click directly here on the date and then you're going to click the date a second time. You will see it says "perm page" up here. This lets you know that you're at the beginning of it. Go ahead and click and highlight that, copy it. Now we're back here at the "Mommy Chat" page. We're going to do something similar like we did when we were doing our link post. We'll just paste that link in there. It's going to show up. Highlight this because we don't want that clogging up our post. Type something in here.

Scheduling Post
Now this time, since I'm on my page, instead of just clicking post, I'm able to give myself the option to schedule this out. I'll just schedule it for tomorrow. Now if i go into the scheduled posts, I'm able to go right here and take a look at it. I'll see when it actually goes out. It will give credit to "Being Mommy" and it'll look just like this. Perfect. Let's go ahead and go back and check on that other post that we just did a moment ago. All right. It's been 4 minutes and in 4 minutes we've gained 8 likes. That's 2 likes a minute. I can't really complain about that. Being from a big page and having great reach already, this post will continue to grow on this page. Now that I've shown you the importance of sharing, let's move onto the next video. I'm going to teach you how to go about finding these great pages so that you can share from them on your page as well.
